A tick bite usually heals quickly. And if a seal appears at the site of the bite, in the center of which a small sore is visible, covered with a dark brown crust, and around this seal there is also redness up to 3 cm in diameter, then this indicates that an infection has entered the wound. And this is only the primary manifestation (which heals after 20 days).
After 3-7 days, the body temperature rises, which reaches a maximum (2-39 ° C) in the first 40 days of the disease, then persists for 7-12 days (if this disease is not treated).
In addition, the lymph nodes are enlarged. And on the 3-5th day of illness, rashes appear. First, the rash occurs on the limbs, later spreads to the trunk and gradually disappears by 12-14 days of illness.
If you have found all these symptoms in yourself, you have Tick-borne rickettsiosis of Siberia. (Rickettsiae are something between viruses and bacteria.) And you need to see a doctor: he will prescribe the antibiotic tetracycline for 4-5 days – and you are healthy. If left untreated, the disease gradually disappears (mortality without treatment is small – 0,5%, but there is a risk of being in these percentages).
